PitchWars is Over, and NaNoWriMo has begun!

If you’ve been following me on Twitter or FB or…well… any social media lately, you know that I’ve been talking a lot about Pitch Wars. But it is over now, and its strange. I’ve learned so much from this process, and I am so grateful to my mentor, the FABULOUS Sarah Cannon, for everything she’s done to help me shine up this manuscript. I have high hopes for Rory, Mergatroid, and Asimov, and I’m keeping everything crossed. You should also check out my co-mentee, Relly, because she is equally awesome and her story just sounds so COOL! I can’t wait to read it!

But I have to say I’ve also met some amazing people in the mentee group. It has been a really unique and cool experience to participate in something like this and know that there are other people who are doing the same thing and having the same doubts as you. Writing can be a lonely business, and its nice to have those connections with people.

And did you read their entries?!?! They’re all amazing. I’ll go broke when they all come out in print. Seriously. (If you want to read through them, go to Brenda Drake’s blog and read away!)

Now I’m querying LEARNING SPACE, and in the meantime, to keep from stalking my inbox, I’m throwing myself into my #NaNoWriMo novel, which I”m calling SEA CHANGE for now. Its a hot mess. It had a plot at the beginning. It still kind of has a plot. But a tiny plot bunny took me down a rabbit hole, and 9000 words later I don’t know how to get out. Or if I want to.

Are you doing NaNo? Want to be “Writing Buddies” there? My username is grumbleworts – feel free to add me! 🙂 How is it going for you?
